ACSIBI:
Also known as the Valley of the Caves, was where the Malcachisco Indian tribe settled, this place is situated some 15 kms from Seclantás in the Calchaquí valleys in the province of Salta, Argentina. This unique place can be assessed in a 4X4 vehicle along the Montenieva dry riverbed to the mouth of the canyon, where vehicles can go no further. Then a four-hour walk amongst the most extraordinary geomorphologic scenery, with a range of colours from grey to an intense red, and shapes which continually change until we reach a number of unique red tunnels and caves.
Complete with lunch in the area / duration 8 hours
BREALITO:
This is a mountain community, placed in a narrow valley, about 16 kms from Seclantás. This is pure, changing nature, with a special attraction – a lake surrounded by mountains, enormous cacti, with legends of minsters and gigantic serpents which the locals claim to have seen. After a 30 minute climb, we arrive at a place held to be sacred to the Calchaquí Indians, with pre-Colombian pictographs and a very special kind of energy. From here the view of the lake is dazzling. This walking circuit continues until we reach an indigenous settlement, where we have lunch.
We return during the afternoon.
